rethinking 1 malaysia concept
1 Malaysia can not be achieved if we still think and keep on talking about: (dengan izin)
Bumiputra and Non-Bumiputra policy;
One party has absolute power, immunity and superiority than the others;
One religion above other religion;
One community more advance and the other remain divided and rural;
One modernized and the others digitally divided;
One symbol is greater than the others;
One quota beyond the others;
One federalism and the others statesmanship;
One have high court while others have “syariah court”;
One have Federal Court and others belittled and/or overrule the “Native Court” powers;
One believed in democracy and others believe in demo-crazy;
One physical vote and others via poster vote;
One democratically nominated and others via monarchy;
One have more equal rights and others continuously marginalize;
One veto and others don’t, via special and/or veto appointment;
One regionally divided and others sub-divisionalized;
One has more constituencies and others have vast area but remained limited;
One has full control on Federal and State while others remain inequitable;
One has much humanitarian allocations and others left to beg for mercy;
One race being subsidize and others not;
One enforce dynastic approach and others remain colonized;
One beyond riches and others beyond rags;
One technically smart and others illiterates;
One think of building trust and others fired the grassroots headmen for collaborating with opposition;
One party call and order others to listen, that’s imperialism;
One Ketuanan Melayu and/or Dayakism; Kadazanism; Mindraf; and others remain marginalize, may cause uneasy;
1 Malaysia policy should serve all and equitably. The 1 Malaysia Government’s enforcement body (Military, Police, MACC, SPR and others) must not be bias and/or prejudice or “one sided” but to serve and honorably discharge their duties with courage, integrity and transparency, and without fear or favor. 1 Malaysia should mean “1 Malaysian”; No Chinese, Malay, Indian, Dayak, and “Bumi and/or Non-Bumi”. 1 Malaysia should not be thought of “1 Malaya” and others as Sarawakian; Sabahan; Kelantanese; Johorean; and so on but as “1 Malaysian”.
1 Malaysia vision is a good initiative, a way forward and a unity platform to unite the citizens of this country as Oneness, and to seek continuous peace, harmonization, unification, civilization, modernization, advancement and righteousness. Is 1 Malaysia mean ”One Direction” to uphold, maintain and nationalize Patriotisms, Interdependence, Independence and Internationalism? There’s no 1 Malaysia if there’s no East Malaysia? There’s no “Tanah Melayu” if there’s no native lands, and so is Sarawak or Sabah’s state lands if there’s no “usucapion” and “usufrutus”. Is 1 Malaysia means diversity? Is 1 Malaysia mean to unite the smart people and elite group only and not 2nd and 3rd class citizens and/or rural communities?
If our fore fathers can struggle, protect, defend, bleed bloods, sacrifice, enslaved and died for us to achieve 31st August 1957, our “Independence Day”, why can’t we achieve 1 Malaysia today? A dream can be rhetoric too. I believe 1 Malaysia is a new millennia vision goal to achieve Economic Independence for all Malaysian! If our Prime Minister of the day (Dato Seri Najib Razak) calls for “1 Malaysia” why can’t PR’s leader(s) and any other leaders share his vision? We can’t keep on giving others “Red Card”; I believe giving moral and/or productive support is better than pursuing negativity. I believe BN leaders may not have realized their mistakes today if PR failed to create “political tsunami” in the 2008 general election. No Man is perfect and pure. From the day we’re born into this world, we’re already a sinner and have burden our parent. If there is born and growth, there’s always pain, happiness, sadness and tragic, and between that is simply “sins” and “holiness”.
1 Malaysia is not only for Malaysia and/or Malay-Asia or Pan-Asian but “HOME” where each citizen of this country lives for the other and all live for God! Malaysian including Dayak, Orang Asli, Kadazan-Dusun, Malay and other ethnics don’t owned this land but the “country and the government only” because land belong to God! There’s no written law of the land in the world but God’s law for diversity. Laws are written by Man, and Man inherits laws from God but Man too have abused God’s law (just like Adam and Eve who disobey God’s law). We don’t do God, Man is born as a servant of God to do God’s will. Is 1 Malaysia means to nationalize “bumiputra” policy on every citizens of this country?
1 Malaysia is One Hope and a way forward for every citizen just like the Dayak Hope to regain unity as “1 Dayak” and like the Malays all heartedly trying to maintain trust and unity in UMNO while PR trying to consolidate, unite and form a democrat platform just alike the BN. If BN and PR still remain divided (internal and external) then 1 Malaysia will never be achieved. Unless someone nuke Malaysia and only then we may realize how important unity is? Let us recall some of our historical events: “the Hinduism lands of Nusantara”; “the Great Majapahit Empire”; “the Brooke Colonization”; “the Imperial Japanese invasion of Malaya & Borneo during the 2nd World War”; “the Indonesian Confrontation 1963-1966”; the Communist Insurgency”; “May 13, 1969 riots ” and others, and now the political tsunami and world financial crisis. Stay as 1 Malaysia, we may sustain another millennium; Divided Malaysia and/or Two-Malaysia Policy, we shall fall and marginalize by even more superior nation(s). History may not occur again like 2nd World War Strategy or Military Aggression in Malaysia but via Economic Colonization! Either you decide to honor 1 Malaysia concept or not, no one can really decide the best but a least with some achievements. 1 Malaysia concept must not be on individual-to-individual approach but via one step at the time.
1 Malaysia must not only focus on political motivated platforms to sphere head our socio-economic development of this country but must include NGOs and “independence commission”. 1 Malaysia must prohibit practicing “semi-caste system” and/or “racial taboo” or “religious taboo” and/or having “Malaya Unions” mentality. Under 1 Malaysia, will our human rights as indigenous peoples would continuously being suppressed, harassed, intimidated, decentralized, relocated and violated in our efforts to protect and defend our cultural heritage, resources, land and environment. Our peoples are being deprived, evicted, culturally assimilated, economically marginalized, and live in poverty and malnutrition as a result of development activities within our lands and territories? Will 1 Malaysia concept respect, recognize and help solved native rights and NCR land issues?
Is 1 Malaysia a Federation of Malaya and/or “Putrajaya Government”? Could 1 Malaysia make every states into “One United States of Malaysia”? And not on singlestick approach i.e. regardless of any political party and/or parliamentary constituency that manage the state. In democracy, all the authorities and/or autonomy of all states in Malaysia must be respected and honor. It needs to two to clap. Is 1 Malaysia also meant to privatize national interest and/or a policy of positive discrimination that reserves a proportion of economic, educational and administrative positions?
The existence of Federal Development Department (FDD) or Jabatan Pembangunan Persekutuan (JPP) in some states would show there are no real uniformity, democracy and trust on the state government. FDD is not only interfering in state affairs but would show a strategic “federal colonization” on the state sovereignty. Can 1 Malaysia concept accept “One Coalition Government”; a combination of BN and PR (51/49% or 70/30% stakeholders of One Malaysian Government management portfolio) and/or 1 Malaysia with “Two Governments Policy”?
1 Malaysia may not be achievable, if we still think of “politico outsider” and this so called “outsider” is no foreigner but an organization with a different concept of politico ideology. Democracy is not one sided political approach; it’s about liberalism and conservative. 1 Malaysia should not leave “1 BN” state to decide and determine the future growth of other rural and/or regional areas, it must be on joint-operations with PR. Is 1 Malaysia also means “one way policy”, “my way policy” and/or like one-sided TV1, 2, 3 media broadcasting channel and others? 1 Malaysia must build one code of ethic in how we want to treat our leaders regardless of which political party they come from. Will 1 Malaysia agenda change the culture of politics and be able to liberalize the financial system of this country?
What if PR’s representative(s) made an official visit to any BN’s government departments, will he/she be welcomed, if yes, will he/she be treated well officially as political representative? If not welcomed, does it mean that the representative(s) of PR is regarded and/or blacklisted as illegal, insurgent and rebel group. But what if PR holds the government; would BN welcome such culture and/or policy?
What if PR’s representative(s) made an official visit to foreign country(s) e.g. to promote trade and the relevant, will BN’s embassy office in such country welcome them and help coordinate and organize the official visit? If not, does that mean 1 Malaysia Government do not recognize PR’s representative(s) and already branded it as illegal party? Is 1 Malaysia (has a slogan “Rakyat Didahulukan, Pencapian Diutamakan”) also mean any poor and/or hardcore poor rakyat (majority are from rural communities and underserved minorities) could now benefit and deserved the basic needs of national humanitarian development programs (rural water, electricity, ICT, road, identity card, land title, healthcare, agriculture subsidy and others)?
Political cannibalization and invasion has long ago happened in this country not yesterday. 1 Malaysia should stop talking about “outsider” and/or “opposition”. Political election is just like a boxing game the “blue corner” and the “red corner” and/or AGM meeting and/or bidding for project tender. A winner takes to become a champion or as a nominated management team and/or contractor to perform at their level best to finish the job. 1 Malaysia is actually all of us just like brothers and sisters regardless of our status, religion and race: ”One for all and All for One”; “United we stand, Separated we fall”; and the “Rukun Negara”. But sometimes, we have seen fathers bully, beaten and/or abused their own children and worse when fathers rope and rape their own children. What would you be thinking?
Under 1 Malaysia, are all the citizen of this beloved nation eligible to apply any loan from Tekun and/or other government institutions without much “red tape” or “condition”? What if a “minority group or an individual” or “NGOs” and/or the “underserved community” request and seeking help from 1 Malaysia Government; will such application be rejected and/or denied if his/her or their letters of support is endorsed/signed by an “opposition representative”? Is Tekun for UMNO or PBB and/or BN? Will 1 Malaysia political policy be more transparent, accountable, open and liberal then ever?
1 Malaysia Government must listen to rakyat voices
1 Malaysia want all citizen of this country remain united to help defend, counter and resolve the world financial crisis that already penetrated into the economic nervous center of this nation. I believe the generous rakyat culture will come forward to contribute and help the government but what if the rakyat seek help from the government; would the 1 Malaysia Government listen to their voices and quickly resolved their “SOS” needs? Denying and/or ignoring their voices would further develop hatred in them. The rational voices would become critical due to dissatisfaction and lack of trust and these voices would certainly tune into criticisms channel. Whose wrong doings? Building political disaster relief and foster trust is very costly and stressful.
Give more value in whatever we do
1 Malaysia cannot be achieved if we still remained in the box and denied others rights. 1 Malaysia can be possibly succeed if we all can come together as “One Family”, compromise and maintain mutual understanding, collaboration, fairness, tolerance and respect, and equitability (administer, manage and acceptable economic stakes) in running this country. To succeed, we all must give more value to our services or products and so is the 1 Malaysia Government. More than ever before today, the rakyat are demanding increased in Government value. Don’t fight this fact, but accept it and the government must distance themselves from primitive ideologies and to stay ahead of their external competition. Work smarter, harder, build trust or esprit-de-coupship and be more creative to provide the best value in whatever you do. The fact is, nothing comes; at least nothing good. All has to be fetched.
Conclusion
If “Malaysia Boleh” why not “1 Malaysia”? If Iban/Dayak warriors call for war cry “Agi Idup, Agi Ngelaban” why not this generation calls for economic independence “Agi Idup, Agi Mansang”?? Not just me, your call too. I am always “One” with the rakyat. “Give More Value” is an appropriate motto for 1 Malaysia. More value may be the defining between success and failure. We have to admit that we are still struggling to eradicate the remains of the so-called ‘oriental despotism’ here

Bumiputra and Non-Bumiputra policy;
One party has absolute power, immunity and superiority than the others;
One religion above other religion;
One community more advance and the other remain divided and rural;
One modernized and the others digitally divided;
One symbol is greater than the others;
One quota beyond the others;
One federalism and the others statesmanship;
One have high court while others have “syariah court”;
One have Federal Court and others belittled and/or overrule the “Native Court” powers;
One believed in democracy and others believe in demo-crazy;
One physical vote and others via poster vote;
One democratically nominated and others via monarchy;
One have more equal rights and others continuously marginalize;
One veto and others don’t, via special and/or veto appointment;
One regionally divided and others sub-divisionalized;
One has more constituencies and others have vast area but remained limited;
One has full control on Federal and State while others remain inequitable;
One has much humanitarian allocations and others left to beg for mercy;
One race being subsidize and others not;
One enforce dynastic approach and others remain colonized;
One beyond riches and others beyond rags;
One technically smart and others illiterates;
One think of building trust and others fired the grassroots headmen for collaborating with opposition;
One party call and order others to listen, that’s imperialism;
One Ketuanan Melayu and/or Dayakism; Kadazanism; Mindraf; and others remain marginalize, may cause uneasy;
